Reasoning I guess
No, see, under that extremely doopy look on his face, he's plotting your ultimate demise.

Well maybe Staravia looks so ridiculous that the opponent is too busy laughing to put serious effort into battle. They just decided not to give a new name to the same effect

You know what else looks kind of dumb and not intimidating at all? Ducks. And Geese.
But holy shit, do not get near the things when they are nesting. IF THEY WERE TALL ENOUGH THEY'D AIM FOR YOUR EYES!

BIRDS run for your life
@PokemonGod777: Ever seen a Hitchcock movie? It's the vacant expression. Surely the sign of a horrible fate awaiting anything to actually arouse it's anger.

I like to imagine it trying to puff out its chest and feathers to appear bigger, but failing drastically.

Oh god
Never underestimate a bird, they're the bringers of doom, specially water ones such as ducks, those things aim for the weak spots

Today's a day of vengeance
I never really liked Staravia. Awful battle cry, goofy face, and he's absolutely everywhere. Staraptor makes for a good salvage, but his former stage really left me with plenty of spite during my D/P playthrough.
But as you guessed from the comic, it's Staravia's ability that made me laugh the first time. It's a bird. A small one. With a comical feather formation residing upon its head, complemented by his emotionless beak and eyes devoid of intelligence. And that's supposed to be intimidating?
Really?
Either way, this comic has allowed me to vent my frustration. My mind is at peace.
