Never forget

NERDING
Good comic overall, I love it, but I just have to be the giant Pokemon nerd here and say that this isn't possible... you need the Move Deleter to forget HM moves like Surf. :P

silruin... kinda dumb.
not nerding, as this comic page is saying WHY he can't remove HMS and so parodying what would happen if he could like any other move. your comment is irrelevant.

Good point.
Now I won't get so frustrated about not being able to replace HM moves, because I now have an idea why it can't be done. :-)

That's actually exactly it. If you could forget HM moves, you could easily become permanently stuck behind a bush or something. That's also why fainted Pokémon can still use them, and why the Move Deleter is in a town at the end of the game.
(Yes, I'm a huge nerd and had to point that out.)

You should do another...
You should do another like this, but with fly, or maybe why you can't just say no to Pokemon Battles? Oh, oh, how about why the bad guys give you cash when you beat them. I mean, they're bad guys, aren't they? Why do they give you cash?

Why can't pokemon just learn the move when they get off the water? *sigh*

@Guest: Or not, because that doesn't make sense. You're not able to control fly like surf. N00b.

Alternate Text
Gotta love the alt text
(By the way, it's "You are now aware that Quagsire's tail looks like a hotdog.")

so funny
This is my first time reading Rare Candy Treatment, and it is AWESOME. Though I didn't understand the first comic, and my brother's exclamation of it didn't help. (My brother's username is bluekirbythe133t.)

late to the party
going on pure game mechanics, they would continue surfing until you left the water. if you teach a pokemon Flash (a TM since gen 4), use it in a cave and then teach a move over it in the cave, it'll remain flashing until you leave.

A more simple approach
With just one color and less shading, this is a bit different from my previous comic, but as far as I'm concerned it's a healthy approach. I usually tend to overcomplicate.
This piece was inspired when the topic was about HMs and whether or not they had a future in the next generation of games, especially their feature of not being able to become forgotten normally. To which someone made the example that if someone overwrote Surf while surfing, the game would probably take an unexpected turn.
The thought stuck in my head. And here we are!
Oh, and for the record, I'd never replace Surf with Mud Shot. For being a HM, it's so incredibly useful.
