The Psyducks are going to take over. And when they do, y'all are going to be sorry for not listening to the Hobo.

@anon:teams:
bronies:ponytas and rapidash (usually painted a girly color)
Crazy cat lady:we have a cat Pokemon in pretty much every Gen, do the math man.
Adult film star:smoochum, jynx, mr. Mime, that's about it.
Valley girl:alright you win I can't think of anything

Is it me... or is that hobo from VGCats? I thought he died... spoon in his ear and all.

Asides from using apricorns, the hipster probably could pass as an actual pokemon trainer.

@shadow7127
@anon
Bronies: No clue, going with shadow7127 on this one.
Crazy Cat Lady: Skitty, meowth, glameow, and their evolved forms.
Film Star: Same thing as shadow7127, but also cute little pokemon like snubbul and pichu.
Valley Girl: probably miltank and maybe sunflora.
30 Apr 2012 12:52 pm
@anon: Bronies would be pretty hilarious. They would only use Rapidash of course XDDD
Great comic!
30 Apr 2012 12:56 pm
@shadow7127: ....Ewwww, you'll use Jynx for adult film star but it didn't even occur to you to use Gardevoir and Kirlia? Or Froslass or however you spell it. Or the new goth-loli one, I think it's called Gothica? Fifth gen didn't impress me so I didn't pay much attention to the names. But there's a humanoid plant one that's very cute in 5th gen too. Mr Mime, Jynx, and Smoochum are waaaay too ugly for adult film star <<; But hell, you could throw in Lucario, he gets written in enough porn because of that movie...poor Lucario. Kind of got the short end of the stick there.

Uhm, there is already a valley girl type trainer. I think it was in gen 4, and she fought alongside with her father. Also, yes, she used ponyta

@shadow7127: I know about the team builds but I was thinking for the film star it would be jinx lickingtung and swalot. For the cat lady I was thinking more about the art style more than anything

@Linkofone: I don't see what the big deal is; all we need is Secretpotion.
Also, if hobos challenge others to spoon fights wouldn't it make sense for them to have Kadabra on their team?
04 May 2012 05:46 pm
STAY AWAY FROM MILK!
Ah, hilarious. Great comic, 'cept I have one question (sometimes it is REALLY hard for me to get jokes). Why would the hipster not use normal types? And the hobo in his underwear is so funny. Really.
@Missingno. Master: You are either really dedicated or have waaaaaaay too much time on your hands. I'll be optimistic and say dedicated.
Plus, I gots some of me own!
Gamer: Electric types
Ordinary boy/girl: Normal types
Environmentalist: Grass types
Country Man: Miltank, Tauros, Ground types, Ponyta, Rapidash
Robot: Electric types (Would only be found in Villainous team's headquarters.)
Popular Girl: Normal types
Depressed Man: Dark types and Ghost types
Surgeon: Psychic and Electric types (high levels and good movesets.)

@Gamining King:
hipsters would not use normal pokemon because "normal" is mainstream.
07 May 2012 10:32 am
P. sure Hobo would also use Trubbish and Garbodor. Or employ them in some other capacity.
Incidentally I am one of the few that loves Garbodor.
Loving the Hipster, also.
08 May 2012 04:23 pm
@Gamining King: why would a surgeon be battling pokemon, and why wouldn't gamers and robots use steel types? Also, I would call country man hill billy. Otherwise, pretty funny :)

I always thought Hippies would be a good Trainer class. Naturally, they'd use Grass types.

@Guest: Just shut up, you. Don't critique my logic (that I shall now explain. Surgeons would be doing the pokemon battling because they have free-time and Nintendo has weird logic. Gamers wouldn't use steel types because they don't use steel. Video game consoles don't have metal on them. Robots wouldn't use steel types because I forgot, but the reason I just came up with is that team rocket and the other teams don't really use steel types (Rocket: Poison; Magma/Aqua: Dark & Dark/Water; Galactic: Poison; Plasma: I forget, but it isn't steel.)).

If there were adult film star types, they would use Pokemon with suggestive move names (String Shot, Lick, Bite, Bind, Submission, etc.)

I was looking back at some of the more recent (but not most recent) strips, and I found this.
I almost choked on my drink when I read your description - "blatantly offensive to one/several of your lifestyle choices." - because I instantly thought of the "several" part. As in, a Frat Boy Hipster Hobo.

I, uh, avoid Normal-types. I've never liked that they have not type advantage when attacking. It hardly occurs to me they have a resistance against Ghost, because that goes both ways (and Ghosts were rare for the longest time).
Just like with fighting games, I don't catch onto how these things are supposed to be used (TANK), but instead just like the flashy attacks. Thus, my team is mostly dual-types and damage-dealing moves with occasional side-effects. Hit 'em hard!

Oh hey! Stereotypes! How dandy!
Not really much to say about this one, besides that I could probably fuel several other updates with this theme, but I believe the point I've covered here will have to do nicely. My apologies in advance if the text is hard to read, or if it's blatantly offensive to one/several of your lifestyle choices.
And for the record, the speech bubble in the first panel belongs to the guy, not the beer can. Unless you've had 5 drinks and counting.
