The official reason why the local police forces were unable to lend their hand against the Rocket crimewave. HM license is a serious commitment!
The connection between HMs and acquired badges is also another thing which got removed in Black/White, which is probably for the best as it never really made perfect sense why they could be taught but not immediately used. On the other hand, this strip is now obsolete. Oh well!
Always wondered about that...
(Can't believe I'm doing this...)
QUICK! SOMEBODY SHOOT ME!
You are dead, not big surprise.
That's hilarious. I've always wondered that as well.
I love it. Pokémon totally makes no sense. xD
Actually, I think a more accurate term might be "obsolescent". Obsolete is when it's no longer applicable at all; but the older games are still around, so obsolescent it is.
"Don't Thundershock me, bro!" XD
Thankfully I haven't played Black or White yet, so I found this strip to still be relevant! :)
Played B&W, can't beat the first gym.
I always figured that it was because the Pokemon themselves would refuse to use the move outside of battle unless their trainer gets a badge, as a symbol of proving their 'worth' to them.
But hey, it was just a gimmick to ensure that people wouldn't get too far in the game without badges.
It all makes sense now!
Looks like you should've listened to the instructions!!! XD
@1ce_k1d: The game gives you a Pokémon for the first badge. Go right of the city and talk to a female. She'll hand you what you need.
@Saphroneth: I think you mean absolescent, remember this is still pokemon and puns are ok.
Maybe they really crack down on fair use of CDs in Japan and the games are a reflection of that? I don't live in Japan, so I wouldn't know.
No one really cares in the US, though, so that explains Unova. :D
Where do I make a request for a comic?
Makes sense, your person never breaks the law.
Now if you could only address how CD-Rs can teach moves to a living thing...
@Geoff: you put them in a CD player and they play hypnotic sounds that rewrite the critters' memory.
Now to explain why you're still using a CD player instead of a much smaller MP3 player...
Has anybody else noticed that in Kanto/Jhoto/Hoenn/Shinno/Orre (Japan) the cd is gone after you use it but not in Unova (NY, U.S.A.)? Maybe it is to reflect the amount of technology jp has/wastes. In America you break it you freak out OMG!!!!! and have to get it fixed but in japan u throh away and buy a new one at the nearest store. So maybe ash/red/etc. thinks that a new TM will just sprout out of the ground BUT IT DOESNT!!!!!! Ash and co have to learn not to waste like black/white!! What next, releasing your best lv100 arceus BECAUSE IT FAINTED?!!!!!! OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG IM CRAZZZY WITH THREE Z'S!!!!
Yeah, I never got it. Like how could a water pokemon -a sea creature- only be able to surf if you've got the right badge? Funny strip Bumbazzle, and I like your new icon :D.
@1ce_k1d: you too?! i had a friend who had a similar difficulty, just use the monkey pokemon in the dream world! heck, on my last playthrough i beat it with my starter on its own!
amazing job! check my work and tell me your opinion!--> tomnsam.com
@1ce_k1d: Wow you suck how hard is it for you to beat him, I beat the elite 4 sucka!!!
This Red trainer has a different outfit than the one from http://www.rarecandytreatment.com/comics/1253758/nuggernaut/
@Namm_killazilla: Oh hell no. Record stores in Japan rent out CDs, and sell blank discs so people can make mixes of what they like then return the CDs so other people can rent them.
as your 101 fan i wana say that these RULE!!! :DDD
Aww man that blew my mind lol
@thecreator: That's because the Nuggernaut red is the FR/LG version, while this and the previous strip features the R/B/Y version. Although I forgot to add his white collar this time, because I'm ignorant like that. :B
@Bumbazzle: Aw, it's okay. We still love you. (Except Blah, but he's weird).
In the pokemon ranger games's citys and towns and streets, There are no pokemarts, recovery centers, or grass or trainers wanting to battle!
This rises many questions I've had over my years of playing pokemon.
Why is using "bite" on ghosts so effective? I mean, I know it's a DARK type move, but of all things to hurt a ghost, WHY THAT? Do the ghost busters know about this?
How do pokemon without arms carry items?
How does girafarig slap pokemon with mud if it has hooves?
What kind of person makes a bike that expensive? And why does it not have ROCKETS attached to it? That would explain the price, wouldn't it?
When a kengaskhan hatches from an egg, why does it automatically have a baby in its pouch when it IS a baby? Was the conception so brutal that even the baby had a baby?
I have a lot more questions, but I should probably stop now before I ramble all day.
Well, I was actually sure it was because they keep walking around routes at night looking for random trainers to scold for being out so late.
But this works too.
Completely makes sense. Team Rocket can go around cutting Slowpoke tails off, taking everyone in a 12 story building hostage, announce bad things through a radio tower, but the minute Red uses Cut illegally/ tries to walk into Saffron before getting the stupid tea- NOT TODAY, BRO
im making a comic i really admire this one i hope some people will check mine out
Bellsprout looks so innocent... aw :(
Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!
@Ex: Or overlevel your starter... I just evolved my Tepig and kicked Cress's ass.
Just saying this is super funny
Those comics are awesome and I'just Hydro Cannon'd my drink from laughing!
