Berries are weird. Or at least their cycle of life and death. I may have forced the situation in the strip to the point that it looks......well, forced, but I'm happy I made it.

It's been two weeks since my last update, which deviates from the usual weekly update. Which, I'm afraid, will be maintained no more. Working full-time and managing a comic on the side has been fun for a year, but now it has worn down on me, to such an extent that working on my strips is becomign less fun and more of a deadline to meet. And as you all know, less fun makes for dull boys. Which is why I've decided to step things down.

First of all: no, I'm not quitting. What happens is that updates will no longer be regular, and in fact be the very opposite: irregular. And when I say irregular, I sort of mean like Perry Bible Fellowship irregular, but far from Gone With the Blastwave irregular. So if there are still people out there who checks this site's updates by actually checking the site every now and then, you should stop. I recommended Piperka many moons ago, and I still do. Otherwise, there's still facebook, tumblr, twitter and my deviantart page, so in short, let my comic check up on you and not the other way around.

tl:dr - The comic isn't dead, but it's certainly coming of age, and updates will become more scarce. You may now start revolting.

lol x'D just great x'D

04 Oct 2011 03:56 pm

*revolt*, actually i think that this will be good for you. I enjoy comics if the creator is still enjoying drawing them. So I look forward to your next update, whenever it may be.

04 Oct 2011 04:18 pm

*revolves* Meh, I don't mind scarce updates. Better to have irregular updates and good quality comics than frequent updates and bad quality comics.

Berry trees

I remember in 2nd gen the trees were always there and gave you the berries and apricorns in a regular basis, new gen trees ARE NOT NATURAL.
On the other side, it's good for you to take a break, upload when you want to and not necesarily every monday, when a comic becomes a burden, well, stop doing it, i love the way you draw and your ideas and i'd like to see more comics.
*bracing for the tl;dr*

Waaait a second! He can pluck more than one berry and then replant it! Game logic is actually on our side this time! :D

04 Oct 2011 06:24 pm

i noticed now that a lot of the stuff in the video game is physically impossible... and you made this much, much more clearer with this. it's ridiculous! XD

04 Oct 2011 06:37 pm

Life happens. B)

Any update from you is a good one, no matter how near or far they are from each other.

04 Oct 2011 06:51 pm

Your stepping down is a perfect time for me to thank you. As a Pokémon fan since ’97, I’d like to say that your comic is the best comic. It’s given me many laffs, and if it’s becoming a chore then slowing down right a way is the best choice. Again, thank you.

04 Oct 2011 09:28 pm

Well, consider me revolting.

...Wait, let me rephrase that.

Seriously though, great comic regardless how often it updates.

05 Oct 2011 01:58 am

Less updates!?!?!?! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!!! In all seriousness, it's a shame that you won't be able to update as often as before, but as long as you don't have to pull the plug altogether, it's all good.

05 Oct 2011 02:31 am

I say you should take your time^^. I mean if the creator enjoys drawing the comic I enjoy reading it^^. So I'll be looking forward to the next update^^

05 Oct 2011 06:43 am

hahaha, that's a weird thing about berry trees, sucks about the irregular updates, but oh well

05 Oct 2011 07:57 am

This has always bothered me when I was playing pokemon! Where does the rest of the tree go?

05 Oct 2011 11:16 am

Took a while to understand this comic >_>

05 Oct 2011 12:44 pm

@Comrade Timekeeper: Uh, that was sorta the joke.

And now I get to be the grammer nazi!
It would be: Danke (correct spelling) mein Freund (he's a guy, so you don't use the feminine version of friend or mein), Sie sind (polite version of "you are") ausgezeichnete (correct spelling)

:P My three years of german finally pay off!

05 Oct 2011 02:43 pm

Figures... I only started reading this comic last week, and now is when updates are going to become scarce

05 Oct 2011 05:01 pm

Lol. I only hope that it's not VG Cats irregular. That'd just be appalling

05 Oct 2011 11:17 pm

*one of those people*

06 Oct 2011 03:25 am

I'd just like to say don't sweat it at all; your comic has been fantastic and if anything it's great that you've announced the change, rather than letting it flag like a whole lot I could name. Speaking of which, I am practically estatic at your taste in webcomics. SOMETIMES I FEEL.. LIKE I KNOW TOO MANY WEBCOMICS.

Anyhow, hopefully your former vigour has been reinvigorated, and looking forward to future comics! (Which would bring the archive count past the unfortunate 69. Tee hee.)

06 Oct 2011 07:46 am

NOT ACCEPTABLE...keep making them regularly... or else...

06 Oct 2011 08:01 am

@inactivemonkey: don't speek to bumbazzle that way or else...

06 Oct 2011 11:45 am

"The commenters are revolting!"

"They've always been revolting. Now they're rebelling."

07 Oct 2011 03:37 am

I discovered this webcomic, I read every single one of them, I have since seen two updates (Gotta Move Fast and Out of Pluck), and now you're becoming irregular. D :
That makes me a sad Teddiursa.

07 Oct 2011 11:00 pm

Maybe you should let other people submit their ideas, and their own work. I mean, I know it's not YOURS, but it would at least keep the site up. I'm really disappointed that you won't be updating too much anymore. :(

Completely understandable that you need to slow down, especially considering you work full-time. I think none of us want you to burn out. You create such wonderful comics and we benefit from your dedication.

So thank you and keep up the good work!

12 Oct 2011 05:47 pm

:'( I liked Gone with the Blastwave. Epic art/character development. Plus, he actually updated it like, two weeks ago.

18 Oct 2011 06:28 pm

I feel so sorry for that guy, but at the same time I don't. Picking berries is stealing in that game. Do you know who planted them? Did you have there ok in killing it? Some people can be so dumb...

20 Oct 2011 11:27 am

These pokemon comics make me want to play pokemon white
