I don't like Golurk much. Its physique just feels out somehow. In fact the only American-designed Pokémon I come close to liking are the Vanillish family.
Comic made me laugh though.

The biggest "You can learn WHAT now!?" was definitely when I found out Rhydon could learn SURF.

Golruk is one of my absolute 5th gen favourites >w< and the very fact it can fly makes it... EPIC.

I never really liked Golurk. Just because I never really use his type.
Besides, my fliers have always been legendaries. Flying into town on Zekrom pretty much shouts, "Yeah, I'm Unova's legendary hero, what of it?" from the instant you roll into town.
The comic is still pretty good though.

It may learn Fly, but I still wouldn't teach it an HM move if I were to put it on a competitive team.

I really lucked out with this.one my first play of white I was doing a nuzlocke run (pokemon on hard mode. google for more info) I got to a point where I had no pokemon that could learn fly....or so i thought. Golurk to the rescue!

Golurk instantly became my favorite pokemon of all 5 Generations, almost soon as I saw it (everything is better with robots). The fact that it's a FLYING robot is just icing on the cake...and there's actually two flying robots in B/W, since Genesect learns Fly as well (technically doesn't exist yet, but we all know it's there). Golurk looks far more awesome while doing it, though.

If memory serves me correctly, I believe the reason Golurk can learn Fly is as part of an homage to the old giant robot animes, like Mazinger, Getter Robo, Gigantor, etc. etc.

This is one of the many "You can learn WHAT NOW!?!s" That surprise me. But the most surprising thing is that Pidgey and the first evolutions of most bird Pokemon can learn FLY. I know it may seem weird because of their types, but seriously, Pidgey is SO FREAKING TINY.

This is more of a homage than an actual joke dedicated to one of my new favorites from Gen V, and the fact that it can learn Fly is a rather common fact now. With its sturdy physique, unique typing and surprisingly aerodynamic body, Golurk is now my main choice of sky transportation. Booyah.
In other news, Austin Matthews made a short video dub of Kyogre - The Worst Roomate. I generally don't like dubs of comic strips, but once the intro started rolling I couldn't help but grin. Check it out if you have 18 seconds to spare.
