Its like, you can't beat the other pokemon.
So what do you do? Make blaziken commit suicide out of rage.
But the other pokemon is still not dead.

This reminds me of when I was at league and there was a VG triple battle going down. Three golems and three wailords. All the golems used explosion and the wailords survived with 1 hp each

There are two moves. One is Self-Destruct, which isn't as powerful, and Explosion, which is twice as powerful.

It took me a few reads to understand what was going on there.
Anyways, the feathery design of Blaziken doesn't really work well for it.

@SSBBrawler: With 5 moves executed in succession, yeah, it can be difficult to follow if you don't know what each move does. The rapid progress was one of the things I couldn't avoid with this strip, so I can understand if it became too much though.
Blazikens do have feathers though. But you're right about how I made them more obvious compared to the official art, but in what way do you feel that it doesn't work for him? His red plumage probably got too cluttered in the fifth panel, but otherwise I'm pretty content with it (I'm also biased!).

eh, this one was a bit too much like the clefairy one for my liking. Or Maybe I just have really high standards. I would think Blaziken warranted a speed boost joke (because clearly Blaziken is faster than deoxys speed form after using protect once or twice). Nice art though.

The outlines became jagged because of the feathers. I can't really say why, but jagged lines I don't like all that much.

First, Me first (disregarding anything else) copies the move at 1.5 times the power. Sadly, Explosion is a normal type move (Hell yes if it had been fire), so this combination would have been a lot more effective with, say... Clefable or another equally retarded pokemon (gotta love the Clefable Metronome Shenanigans).
While Blaziken can only achieve, with this combination, a 450 power Explosion, Clefable would have reached 675! (And that's enough to kill -anything-, Mwahaha!)
The difference between Clefable and Blaziken using that chain would be a small bomb, made by whatever manufacturer deals with that, to dropping a nuke.

@coolking: Having high standards is a perfectly acceptable reason. I hardly laugh at comic strips despite that I read a lot of them. Speed Boost is an awesome and most likely to become overpowered addition to Blaziken in Gen V, but I have difficulties seeing the fun in it.
@SSBrawler: Okay.
@Dairuga: I meant it in the sense of how the situation of using Mirror Move against a Metronome is weak, as Blaziken has much more dangerous moves in its arsenal than to bet at a lucky draw. But a Me First Explosion is, as you said, not to be scoffed at.

I reckon it's pretty cool you have a resident troll happening. It's how folk art has developed over the ages, since the jongleurs and troubadours first mocked religion with their satirical art. I know it's not the same, but it's still a pretty fantastic thing to have from an optimistic point of view.

Haha, yes, I understand. My bad. And yes, quite, you do have a point there. But yes... Me first on on an Explosion is quite strong... and then you think.... "I just Me First'ed an explosion.... whiiich means the guy I targeted is going to go boom very hard, very soon... Dear god, I hope he faints now."

Now, I do realize that this is "a internet amateur comic about fictional, magical animals who battle for no particular reason", but I juust wanted to point something out.
Assist, a Normal-type non-damaging move, randomly chooses an attack known by another Pokemon in the user's party. However, it cannot call Me First, among several other moves.
Just wanted to point it out. But hey, great comic regardless.
@Dairuga Also, I just wanted to again point out that Clefairy and its evolution cannot in any way possible learn Me First.

@Spike: I mentioned that Assist cannot become one of the other moves specified in this strip, besides Explosion.

I've been reading your comics from the beginning and while I enjoy them for the most part, why do you consistently draw Metronome's attack animation as a finger being waved in a small circle? Do you know how a real metronome works? I'm already having to overlook the shitty art style - I can't overlook this aslo.

And while I'm at it, the scenario to use Mirror Move against a Metronome, had it been executed as in the strip, is also pretty weak. So in hindsight, this strip contains plenty of flaws on both the reasonal and logical plane and as such shouldn't have made it through quality control in the first place.
But then I remembered that this is a internet amateur comic about fictional, magical animals who battle for no particular reason, and then all my concerns were no more.
Also I really wanted to see a Blaziken explode (and who can blame me?!).
