The last panel goes out to all of you Nuzlocke participants out there. We share your pain.

ah yes the dreaded nuzlocke. I'm still working on mine, though it doesn't look too bright.

I don't quite get it

I know what the Nuzlocke challenge is, but i don't get the last panel...

Knowledge about Nuzlocke is unrequired for the last panel, but it's closely related. Critical hits happen in such a way that we get them scarcely or in a moment we don't need them, while the opponents can smack a big one in our face when a crit is the only thing that can bring us down.

Crit happens. A lot.

I'd like to see that first panel design at a bigger size, something i could print out.

it looks pretty cool, I can see the pokeball, but most people wouldn't recognize it immediately for what it is.

anyway, wallpaper size of that logo would be great.

I aim to make my strips into something that only those who actually play pokemon would understand (although general humor still applies), so most people not understanding the first panel would be understandable and predictable. Not to mention that if I were to make the ball more obvious, then people wouldn't see the recemblance to the nike logo.

Making a bigger version of that ad wouldn't be much of a problem though if my original psd file is left intact, so I'll get back on that.

To be completely honest. The Nuzlocke is even more difficult on Black and White, with the xp rates changed and all.

The exp rate has never really bothered me that much, I only see it as a benefits that those of a lower level will get more experience.

Plus that I wouldn't complain about the exp when you get a Lucky Egg in the electricity cave. They're spoiling us!

I love this comic! :D

A wallpaper size of "Just Duel It" would be wonderful. ^^ It's very clever.

LOL that "just duel it" would make a great shirt, even if pokemon battles aren't generally called "duels".

Also "Crit" is more of an FPS term I think (at least team fortress 2)

Maybe Dueling isn't what you had in mind

Why does the word duel always remind me of the word CardGamesOnMotorcycles?

@Andrew Jackson: "Crit Happens", as in Critical Hits happen. Nuzlocke players play, so that if their Pokemon faint, they die. They can never use that Pokemon for another battle again. So, critical hits happen.

Crits

Crits hurt so bad, especially from a Hyper Fang Raticate in RBY.

I would totally buy a "Crit happens" bumper sticker.

Nope

@Batabii: Uh, no. Crits is short from 'Critical Hit', which has been a staple of RPGs (read: Final Fantasy, Pokemon, etc) from, wait for it, Even Before Video Games Existed. Yep, Crits have existed since way back when D&D was new. It's not a FPS term in the slightest- the use of it in other genres is simply the usual genre blending you see happening frequently.
