That happened with my Kangaskhan when I bred it with Ditto. "How does such a big Pokemon fit in one of these itty bitty eggs?!" ._. Then again.. how does a baby Kangaskhan have a baby? Are they always pregnant, even at birth? D:

Well would you look at that, Lapras is in theory the heaviest egg possible. At least in fourth gen.
Having a Grimer in your hands is probably worse though.

Fufu, I always wondered about that too. and how they were suddenly battle ready XD

Indeed. Not something I'd like to discover in the morning.
All images are now re-hosted on imageshack, but this incident only emphasize how I could use a private sector of my own to upload images. I'd hate to come across this situation again.
Thanks to all of you who have already commented! I thought about other possible species that could be hatched from the egg, but I ended up with Lapras as it would be rather simple to have it flatten the guy in the last panel. Grimer is an interesting twist with a turn towards the uncomfortable side, but I'll leave that idea for someone else to fiddle with.

Imagine if
same thing with Chansey, That could literally be an infinite chain of hatching if the egg it's holding immediately hatched.

Yeah...I just spent like a week trying to hatch The Perfect Lapras, so this made me crack up especially XD The Woopers and Staryus aren't so bad, but...oh, man, imagine if you were breeding Wailmers?

Interesting thing I noticed, it seems none of the eggs hatched in the anime were of big Pokemon. All of them were critters you'd expect to fit in an egg that size.
I think that really tells something...

@newyorkdefendertalon:
imagine if it was a baby voltorb and then it exploded in your hands

reminds me of the episode where the togepi eggs' potential contents were in question. No you jerks it wouldn't be an articuno or a dragonair...

He should be even more thankful it wasn't a FREAKING DIALGA. The only reason why a Dialga is in an egg in the first place is because of an event.

@Inxerene: hoho, the kangaskhan peculiarity is the awkwardest thing. Mother since her birth, it's madness! They should create a pre evolution using the babe shape on her bellybag

That happened to me when I bred a Snorlax without a full inscense.
Sure it's odd, but it's just plain wrong if you try to hatch a Kangaskhan...

Actually
Actually, I always thought they hatch small and get bigger upon lvl gain.

Haha, I remember I bred a Snorlax to get a Munchlax once. But the egg hatched into another Snorlax.. I was annoyed but imagine how big the egg must have been!

Unfortunately for me, while trying to get munchlax and not knowing the proper procedure to do so, I ended up hatching three 'unexpected' Snorlaxs. T^T

When you hatch enough eggs, this thought will eventually come across you.
